Shincheonji multicultural center offered an opportunity to experience Korean culture



The foreign students from Gyeonbuk SMC are drawing a Korean bow in Gyeongsan-si Samseonghyeon history park on the last month. There were about 40 foreign students from Vietnam Myanmar, Uzbekistan and so on in that event.

Shincheonji multicultural center (hereafter SMC) held an event for the local foreigners in Daegu, Pohang, and Gumi to experience Korean culture and some sports celebrating May, the month of family. 


The event was planned to help the foreigners who work hard abroad, ease their homesickness and fit in the society themselves by understanding Korean culture. 


Daegu and Pohang SMC held Korean culture experience event in Gyeongsan-si Samseonghyeon historic park on the 27th of last month. Around 40 foreign participants from Vietnam, Myanmar, Uzbekistan and so on had a great time building mutual communication and reconciliation through experiencing of Korean traditional martial art, Kuckgoog, the rail sled, making Korean sentences and performing in the event which was under the theme “All the people in the world draw a bow together.” 


“SMC, we love you.” The foreign students and Korean teachers have taken a photo after the event called “All the people around the world draw the bow together.” on 27th this month in Gyeongsan-si Samseonghyeon history park

On the same day, Gumi SMC held a sports day called ‘We are one.’ and 18 foreigners had a wonderful time with 12 teachers playing Fusal, popping balloons, jumping ropes and talking with a body.


Arif from Bangladesh appreciated the SMC teachers saying, “I can’t help but feel lonely every holiday of Korea, but whenever I feel down, the teachers of SMC encourage me and always treat me nice. I felt we are like a real family when we made ‘Beriah’, my country’s holiday food.


Seo Ki Joo, the head of Daegu SMC said, “The foreigners who have left their countries and been living in Korea dreaming their future here are our family, too. Not only the sports day or the Korean culture experiencing event but also different kinds of volunteer work associated with the outside, such as ‘the story of walls’, are in progress. And we are also engaged in a volunteer work next month, which is linked to Namgu Resource Center, to help farming and fishing communities.



The foreign students from Gyeonbuk SMC experience the rail sled in Gyeongsan-si Samseonghyeon history park on 27th this month. The event called “All the people around the world draw the bow together.”, 
which was collaborated by Daegu SMC and Pohang SMC, had 40 foreign participants.




Meanwhile, Daegu SMC which had started last year is running by donation of talented experts in Korean, Taekwondo, playing guitar and ocarina, and it is vitalized in Gumi and Pohang.


130 foreign students from 13 different countries, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Vietnam, etc. are currently registered in the center. 30 to 40 of them attend classes every week.
